NJ Maker’s Day 2019

NJ+Makers+Day+2019

On March 21 & 21, Mrs. Weiss hosted Maker’s Day in the media center.  There were 8 different stations that students could visit, on their own, or with friends throughout the school day.  A few activities included:  speeding superhero robots, 3D design, introduction to circuits, and optics/lights.   Here’s what a few students had to say about their experiences at Maker’s Day:

6th Grader Bobby Liput:  “The VR was fun and scary. I got to go through doors and Pennywise jumped out and scared me!  There was also a rollercoaster game that was the six flags ride Superman.  It felt so real”

7th Grader James Sun:“I made a Viking on the 3D printer. I used the software on Tinkercad and designed using the shapes on the program.  It took about 3 hours to print.”

6th Grader Sarah Rodrigues:“I played with a hula hoop to study momentum.  It was fun”

7th Grader Alex Puentes: “The robot sphero was awesome.  There was a terrain park set up and we used a joystick on an iPad

to play bowling and sharks and minnows.
