Juliana Pullen, Staff Writer

Name:  Ms. Kristen Mikolajczyk

Position: Detective

Time at GW: Since September 2022

Fun facts:

  • I ate fermented shark in Iceland.

In September 2022, we received multiple new staff members. One of these is Detective  Mikolajczyk (aka Officer Miko).  She is a detective in our school security.   How long have you been on the Wayne PD?

“I have been on the Wayne Police Department for 4 years.” says the detective.

That’s cool! What do you like to do outside of school?

“I like to hike, hang out with my friends and  play with my puppy,” Officer Miko  says with a smile, “and travel too.”

What’s your day like? What do you do at GW?

“First, in the mornings, I  monitor drop-off.  In period three I participate in cycles class. Right now we are doing ___. I then monitor lunch and recess. Other than that, I monitor  any issues that arise for students or parents.”

That sounds like a full day!  This next question is a bit random, but I’m sure our readers would love to hear the answer. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

“French onion dip & chips,” she says with a sure nod.

Since you’ve started working at GW, what is your favorite part??

“The staff and students, definitely!”

Aw!  What advice do you have for GW students who hope to become detectives?

“That’s a good question-stay out of trouble. Always be respectful and do your work. Pick a goal in life, stick to it and figure out how to get there.

With all honesty and truth, school security is not just welcome in today’s world, it’s necessary. We may not be in a place where it happens, but it’s happening in other places. So school security is incredibly important. It’s important to treat them with respect because they are keeping our school. Thank you and Welcome Detective Miko!
