The GW Student Council is excited to announce all of our new events! If you’re not sure what’s going on in your school community, don’t worry. St. Petrick’s Day

This Student Council Fundraiser is a competition between all grade levels. In honors of National Animal Day on March 14th, the school is doing a collection of all things relating to pets! Pet toys, treats, food, and more! They will be collecting these items starting on March 4th, up until March 14th. The grade level with the most items donated will win one-hundred box tops towards the end of the year BBQ! Good luck!

Shamrock Scavager Hunt

GW’s annual shamrock scavenger hunt is coming March 15th! Starting at the beginning of the school day students will go hunting all over the school in search of all different colored shamrocks and one pot of gold! Each color shamrock and pot of gold equates to a specific amount of spirit points! If you find one be sure to fill out the information on the back and return it to room 202!

Disney Door Decorating

Homeroom representatives will randomly select a theme for your homeroom’s door on March 22nd. Then over the course of a few weeks, doors to classrooms all around the school will be transformed into scenes of different Disney movies! Doors will be judged on April 12th and there will also be a Disney spirit day. One homeroom from each grade level as well as one overall winner will receive a prize! The prize is still a mystery, so to get an idea of what you may win, last year’s prize was an ice cream party for each winning homeroom! Good Luck to all!

Spirit Week

One entire week in the coming months will be dedicated to showing our schools spirit! Every day will have a different theme! Below is the layout for that week:

Monday, March 18th: Marvel Monday

• • Dress as a superhero or villain

Tuesday, March 19th: Twin Tuesday

• • Dress the same as someone else

Wednesday, March 20th: Wacky Wednesday

• • Wear anything crazy

Thursday, March 21st: Duo/Trio day

• • Dress in a pair or trio
  • Ex. Snow White and the Evil Queen
  • Ex. Three soccer players

Friday, March 22nd: Rock day

• • Wear any band or rock t-shirts and clothing

Parkland Fundraiser

The date has not been determined, but over the course of a few weeks, the GW community will be raising money for scholarships to be donated to students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. Water jugs will be out during lunch and rec for students to drop in money. The grade level that donates the most money will get to watch Mr.Leonard being duct-taped to a wall!
