Mrs. Moré’s 7th Graders Make Text to World Connections

On November 15, Officer Collins paid a special visit to Mrs. Moré’s class to aid in the understanding of the police work that was mentioned in their novel, The Other Side of Dark by Joan Lowry Nixon. During his visit, Officer Collins answered questions the students had about forensics and finger prints as it was mentioned in the novel. He also demonstrated how fingerprints are located on surfaces and analyzed. One student put her hand on a window and Officer Collins showed the class how the fingerprint would be lifted and analyzed.
